These illustrations are a collection of some of my design developments throughout my journey of fashion and textiles.
This project had the theme of Seafronts and Shorelines, after capturing images for inspiration I decided to develop the ideas of how I can incorporate cracked paint on the beach huts into my designs. I experimented with collage on Photoshop and designed my own fabric to use in my final design. As beach huts are very linear I decided on creating a pair of trousers with panels of cracked paint.
This design was heavily inspired by Alexander McQueen, specifically his collaboration with Alexander Wang in 2015 for his spring collection. The highly saturated colours and linear patterns to fit the theme of intergalactic digital designs helped my form my final design.
Within my module I created some experimental work from a photoshoot based of traffic lights. I was practicing with different techniques that I wanted to use in my next project e.g. embroidery, digital manipulation and layering.
These swatch samples are practice pieces of experimental work for my next design.
This project was me reconstructing a blazer that I bought from a charity shop and playing around with new techniques that I had been experimented with. This was my practice piece before my final design at college, however I never got to finish it as college was shutdown due to the pandemic.
This garment was created out of calico and experimenting with different techniques to form a wearable shape.
This is a neck piece I created to link with my theme of Seafront and Shoreline. I bound the material together using felting to get the colours I wanted.
I created this design out of a bed sheet and corset I had in my house. I was experimenting with designs as I was inspired by the 1800s and the ballgowns the women used to wear.
